Description
Designing The Design Centre is part one of a two-semester (year-long) course for Graphic Design students who are interested in collectively conceptualizing, developing, and articulating a model for The Design Center at CalArts. The Design Center is potentially a physical student-centric design studio that serves CalArts students, staff, and faculty with advice, tutoring, and design services. This course will involve design research, strategic thinking, written and visual presentations and working on branding, identity and implementation strategies.
The course will help students develop models for a practice that considers design's practical, educational and social role within a community.
